English vocabulary from the World Cup – eliminate

It’s the round of 16 now! 32 teams qualified for the 2014 World Cup so 16 teams have been eliminated. 
On May 19th I posted a blog that explained some English meanings for the verb qualify.

Today let’s look at a few ways to use eliminate.
