English idiom – Around the corner

The Wold Cup starts on Thursday June 12th in Sao Paulo. 4 more days from today! 
The World Cup is just around the corner!
Around the corner is today’s English idiom. Can you imagine the meaning?

So around the corner can mean coming soon or close 🙂
