Another use for the word – Since

On Feb. 21st I posted a blog that taught FOR, SINCE and AGO.
Today I want to show you another meaning for SINCE that means the same as BECAUSE.

Since – conjunction

“I thought I’d meet my friend for lunch on Monday since I will be very close to his office.”

“Paula put her small umbrella into her bag since the weather report on her smartphone said it may rain this evening.”

*Because and as both work in these sentences~

“I thought I’d meet my friend for lunch on Monday as I will be very close to his office.”

“Paula put her small umbrella into her bag because the weather report on her smartphone said it may rain this evening.”

Since it’s getting late why don’t you just spend the night? We have an extra bed in the guestroom.”
